Stoneware, this is a Salt Glazed Stein with Cobalt Blue Embossed Grape Grapevines and Cherubs Barware
This pitcher is for beer or wine. a Stoneware It has two cherubs, grapevines and grapes embossed on the outside.
The grapes and grapevine embossing is gorgeous, as is the cobalt blue sits inlaid on the lightly blue, almost gray, salt glazed background.
It reads "Vinum bonum Llaetificat cor hominum" which means "
Good Wine Gladdens A Person's Heart
."
It would look great in your bar area, on a shelf displayed and w
ould also make a lovely vase for flower arrangements!

Height is approximately 8" tall.
Body diameter is approximately 4-1/2" across and 16" around it.
Weighs 2 lbs 1.5 oz (not including box/shipping materials)
The only mark on bottom is a number "2" in the center of base.
Condition notes:
The embossed blue color is missing from the top of the "h" in the word "hominum" and there are some blue smudges under the glaze near base under the handle created in manufacturing.. Other than that it is excellent condition with no chips, no cracks and no crazing. Pictures have been provided for your review.
