    Description

Vintage Conrad Electric Violin Bass. Condition is pre-owned.
    Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This Bass is very clean. You can tell it was not abused or mistreated in it's life.
    The downside first.
Please look at the photos closely. There is a finish crack that runs up the back, if you zoom in and examine, you can see it. On the front there is another that runs under the bridge. I truly believe these are aged finish cracks and not cracks in the wood. I have experience with luthier projects, the bass does not vibrate in any strange way or make any noises that are evidence of being cracks in the wood. They don't flex or move if you knock on them. It's solid, I believe.
The string height needs attention. I installed a new nut and didn't want to file it down for fear of going lower than someone might want it. I play guitar and bass string heights are not my thing.
The bridge adjustment won't lower any further so the string height will definitely need to be addressed.
There is a missing piece of the neck pickup cover that can be seen in the photos.
    The good stuff.
The neck and frets are in good shape. I cleaned the fretboard with some cleaner wax.
    I installed a new nut.
I installed new cts pots with an orange drop tone cap and switchcraft toggle switch as well. It came to me with controls that were original but not really functioning well. I have the original parts in a bag.
I put new knobs on it. They are new Marshall amp control knobs. It was missing a knob when I bought it and I couldn't find find tophat style knobs I thought looked nice.
The Marshall knobs kind of modernize it in a slight way.
I put ernie ball strings on just before the photos so they are not played on.
It sounds mellow and articulate with good pickup response.
The controls are comfortable to adjust with the grooves on the sides of the knobs.
There is no case included. I will pay for insurance to cover the cost of the bass and shipping should usps break it.
I package instruments well, this will be shipped in a guitar box I received a guitar in.
I will take more photos if you would like.
    Please purchase with confidence.
I try to be clear and honest in my description. I intend to sell items that stand up to how represent them.
