***ADDITIONAL NOS INFORMATION:
NOS does not mean perfect condition.
NOS means NEVER BEEN INSTALLED on a car.
Some NOS items are in better shape than others.
Some have a lot of scratches, scuffs, issues, etc. but they chrome up show quality.
NOS is not show quality.
It is original chrome from the 1950’s plating processes, which is quite different from the chrome of today.
Any NOS parts I have ever purchased for my show cars, I have always rechromed to obtain show quality for them.
If you are just looking at a driver, that is a different story and it is just a question of how much “shelf wear” you are willing to accept.
Refer to the zoom feature on the photos for detail.
If you need further questions, please ask them prior to making the purchase.
Over the years, vintage NOS items have been shipped, boxed and unboxed, taken out, looked at, and put back in boxes, probably more times than I could think of.
So, the answer to whether NOS is right for you as a buyer, depends on the application you are looking for.
All I can tell you is the definition of NOS is NEW OLD STOCK NEVER INSTALLED, which means they have not been bolted to a car.
NOS from the 1950’s has various levels of shelf wear depending on how and where they were stored. If you want perfect chrome then you will need to replate whatever NOS you purchase.
The big advantage to NOS parts is that they have never been dented or bent from previous applications/installations and plate up great in the plating process without pits, sanding marks or scratch marks to a show quality for high end restorations.
Because USED metal, meaning previous applications or installation, shows deterioration that cannot be removed in the plating process is why NOS is preferred for show quality restorations.
I would never say any vintage NOS is perfect.
All NOS has shelf wear, it is just a matter of what you are willing to accept for the application you have in mind.
Again, refer to the zoom feature on the photos for detail.
